I’m lucky. I have amazing Health Insurance. I will pay only a very small percentage of this with my OOP max. But. It’s not JUST the insurance companies that are the problem.

Just prior to this I spent a little under a week in the hospital in the UK. In the private ward. It cost me around $20k US out of pocket when it was all said and done.

This meanwhile is how the US hospital system bills, & that doesn’t cover the doctors. Or the 25k extra for the ER hall stretcher.
