Happy Birthday Smurko! β€οΈπ
Thanks, you've got great hair and I wanted to draw it β€οΈ
Gift art for @prawnzo.bsky.social
got another "i wish i could draw" comment this week and i am yelling the same thing i am always yelling: drawing is a technical skill. it's teachable and learnable and it is never "too late" to start picking it up
Studies of anthro wolf faces/heads. Background is dark red and sticks with the mix of reds/yellows used in the study, red background also stops the shaded areas from blending into the background and looking weird
Wolf Study
Modified the Atelier brushes slightly and have been using them more alongside the current brushes
6βx12β oil of a sunset on the pacific coast.
1:2 is possibly my favorite scale. Years ago I used to condense all my landscape compositions like this to 1:1 because of instagramβs square format.

Thanks, you've got an awesome fursuit β€οΈ
Started off with a sort of sunset colour palette but changed to something simpler. Kept reds/oranges for warm and purples/dark blues for cool, the bright blue eyelid should contrast the whole palette.
Tried doing the hair cleaner than normal but it still looks weird in places.
Full study, first recreated reference using current brushes then drew portrait using mix of current and Atelier brushes, still leant heavily on current brushes though.

Fursuit study portrait
Fursuit is of @robynmeows.bsky.social
And you are so kind Osby β€οΈ
Combining the brushes with my current setup gives a pretty good result and will become better as time goes on.
Also got a fursuit study with the new brushes that should be complete in the coming days.
Both referenced artworks are by Karen Werner
Bought the Atelier brush bundle by Ramon Miranda and have been testing them out. Also been trying to get better with colour and colour temperatures.
New oil paint brushes will take some time to get use to
A digital painting of a fat polar bear man seated comfy and contently in a soft chair. He has one arm resting on a clothed table with an opened book on top, while the other arm gently caresses the top of his plump belly in between his soft pecs. He's wearing orange drapery on his forearms and hips that flows downwards like a waterfall of cloth. There's also an orange cloak around his neck and shoulders that's pinned by a jewelled golden broach, with a chain of jewels attached to the broach that curve onto his shoulders and under the cloak. He has even more elegance thanks to the golden beads around his wrists, and a set around his neck that is buried in the thick fur there. There's two canine people in the room both looking in wide-eyed awe at the bear, with the foreground canine reaching a hand forward with hopes of touching the bear's big gut. Something I'm sure none of us are also thinking about. There's the signature of the artist on the chair that reads "Cariboops F: 2026" in cursive writing.
Bit of a painting study based on Rembrandt's "Judith at the Banquet of Holofernes." Though the subject is now a big bear man, and the banquet is thankfully ending with belly rubs!
Also made a timeline of how much my art has improved and changed since beginning to relearn art
Looking at it now, I should probably learn how to draw protogen mouthes/expressions at some point

Further polygon art studies
Left reference is more simpler/blocky shapes while right reference is more detailed and triangular.
Also tried making a couple of polygon art portraits of people but I'll DM them these privately.
Polygon art study
Been trying to get better at the whole 'less is more' principle by studying more minimalist/abstract art.
