Median case is this accelerates the decline of already faltering linear television networks as viewers abandon them over perceived or actual partisan shifts. So the question becomes, what are business models that can support newsrooms to replace the reporting muscle?
imo the threat posed by CBS News and CNN getting absorbed by pro-regime billionaires isn't that they're going to produce right-wing slop that convinces people to be right-wing, it's the dismantling of newsrooms capable of doing investigative reporting on the administration. Fewer eyes on the street.
IMO this must be a priority if we ever get MAGA out of US government.
