Then the Trump Admin assumed office and quietly took steps that officials think will likely kill both cases.

The film is based on a true story set in 1970s Rio de Janeiro, when Brazil was living under a military dictatorship.
This is absolutely horrifying. These are the organizations on the front lines advocating for people who have experienced housing discrimination and doing affirmative work to end discrimination in housing. Without them, more families and people with disabilities will be on the streets.
Trump's administration cancels funding of local orgs on the frontlines protecting fair housing rights of all, including people w/disabilities, people of color and faith, families w/ children, seniors, victims of domestic violence, & LGBTQ+. It won't make housing cheaper.

According to ProPublica, she wasn't an inpatient. To win medical malpractice claim in TX against an emergency room, family would have to prove "wilfull and wanton negligence" which is more difficult to prove, particularly, when TX law criminalizes most abortions.
