I'm SO MAD
wheezes
me at the start of the veilguard endgame run: Davrin makes a solid case for why he should lead the distraction team, I'll pick him
me an hour later: nooo NOOOO BABY DON'T GO DOWN THE HOLE
I don’t know who at Bandai Namco made this but it couldn’t not be any clearer that they spent their life making AMVs, saw their moment to shine, and did not hesitate.
Trigun is the inverse of Cowboy Bebop
Trigun is a space western about a guy whose affable himbo demeanor belies the fact that he's incredibly capable
Bebop is a space western about a team of people whose incredibly cool style masks the fact they all fucking suck at their job
jayce from arcane hunched bodily over a prone viktor, choking him out like that one scene in end of evangelion but with more mood lighting
keeping promises
I mean this positively.
Watching Severance is a wild experience but ESPECIALLY if you were under the impression that it was primarily a black comedy workplace satire and not also...everything else it's got going on.
dusts this account off
Lucanis and Spite with a qunari Rook from Dragon Age The Veilguard. Lucanis is facing Rook and just barely kissing them. Spite is behind Rook, mischievously looking over their shoulder. Rook's eyes are half-lidded as they smile into the kiss.
"Spite greatly approves"
I got this absolutely gorgeous commission of Lucanis, Veryl and Spite from @reyaureo.bsky.social and I will never be normal about it
I’m sensing a theme here

I've made this same speech several times in my fandom career, but:
The canon is over. Fandom IS NOT. We are the torchbearers, we are the scribes and painters and archivists now. We keep the story alive.
The makers of the official thing are done, but we'll never be. As long as one of us is posting.
Happy Chinese New Year, friendos!
This lovely baby belongs to Cute Little Corgi (小柯基呆萌萌) on Xiaohongshu ❤️, which is stuffed to the gills with fellow corgi owners 🥹

This sequence of pictures would make a great in-universe PSA against lyrium use. Just Say Nay.
The single most important skill to master in storytelling is knowing when to reveal information to the audience. Before it is relevant/immediately when it is relevant/or after it is relevant - all three times presents a very different story experience to the audience. Always ask when we should know.
Also as someone who did yet another replay on Inquisition right before Veilguard, the sheer quantity of banter was like walking out of the desert and getting the chug endless water. Big points there.
Yeah that sounds legit. Taash is a character I'd love to edit a bit because certain parts of their arc did jar me a little just with how the modern-day language took me out of the scene to a degree. But I'm so glad the arc itself exists, and I love Taash. Some of my fave banters too.
Yeah, this is good. I think I just got tripped up because I didn't use twitter enough to have it ingrained and bsky doesn't specifically show who's being tagged so I was like Oh No Will The Notif Show Up. The youths of today would be disgusted at my (lack of) microblogging skill.
Lords of Fortune are shockingly tacked on but the Mourn Watch charmed me incredibly, at least.
And we can't go back in time and unfuck development, so.
re threading I keep forgetting whether I'm supposed to reply to myself or the original thing I'm replying to to keep it aligned, sob.
Yeah, I have always appreciated games that are flawed but try to do interesting things, so Veilguard joins DA2, FF8 and several Assassin's Creed in that regard.
I can't thread properly lol
I'm 90 hours in and probably going to 100% it, so regardless of what my final tally of thumbs up/down turn out to be, I figure that says something about my enjoyment haha
2) a lot of areas where I do find the writing iffy could have the exact same content but come off better with additional drafts 3) it's very clear that development hell contributed hugely to the game's weaker aspects, which is a shame, but I'm glad we got Veilguard over nothing
1/3 I'm still working on it (closing in on the end though) because Life Stuff And Travel kept pulling me away and my PS5 was too large to take on a plane, but currently my overall thoughts boil down to 1) fun game, good characters, gameplay is SHOCKINGLY smooth
Yeah we're definitely thinking of the same folks lol. Blocking is the best possible response.
Yeah, the ones I'm thinking of are the ones who can't walk away but also can't get over their disappointment and want to make it EVERYONE'S problem. You know the type. I have my own criticisms, but they don't take away from what it does well, or even what it does clunkily but interestingly.
