I live next to the local hockey arena. Occasionally there are music events there. Currently I'm having to listen to the thump and rattle of something instead of the lovely sound of the rain on my roof. I hope they stop soon.

The romance in it was just totally unbelievable. I would have smacked that guy and went on without him. But the scenery is beautiful. I love watching The Matchmaker bc I've been to Roundstone and Inis Mór where it was filmed.

A customer came in the other day and asked me for tamakotchi. I laughed, then asked on the walkie talkie when it became apparent the customer wasn't kidding. Turns out we had them but only a few left.

There are a lot of shitty customer tales in my work but the ppl I really do not understand are those who pretend they cannot do the simplest task in order of getting out of doing it.

I've set it to 30minutes/day. You can set a time-limit in the settings. You can bypass it, when the app says you've reached your limit but I try not to do that. I don't always succeed.

Also me: been scrolling tumblr for hours

I feel like my reaction for world events has been reduced bit by bit from "fuck I need a week off to deal w this" to "huh *swallows tears* I need to go to work now and stuff this stuff down and never see anyone ever again outside of work bc I'm a horrible person for not reacting"

In totally out-of-this-hellhole-world news, a former colleague of mine is a contestant(? dunno how that show works) on Voice of Finland and I just watched her performance and WOW! I had chills all through it. She's also such a sweet and lovely person, I'm so glad she is doing what she loves!

I've switched to buying physical English books from booky. fi, some are cheaper than on adlibris and the postage isn't bad and sometimes free. Some are weirdly expensive, though.

I'm heading to an actual work party. This is our "Christmas party". Because I work in retail and there's no party before Christmas.

I will count this as my social interaction of this half of the year. Will be staying in with the cat for the rest of the winter.

Had one of those epiphanies about my plot where my stomach drops and fills with butterflies and I feel giddy.

Some days as a writer suck. Most days it's just plodding along. And then there are these days.

I'm heading to work so no writing for me today. But will plot all day.

There’s lots of reasons why being colonized by aliens would probably be terrible, but increasingly I’m willing to do it for the irony.

Wasn't feeling up to reading this pandemic Sci-fi book but rn it feels better than the news, so...
