Martin in "Mr. Lieber Comes to Hirta" would probably be at a clerk's office or city hall and then having a celebration in a small city apartment. His inspiration Stan Lee got married in Reno, but Martin is a simple guy. translunartravelerslounge.com/2020/02/15/m... #WriteStuff

Oo this is a tough one. In "This Is Not A Space Kidnapping Fantasy", Vespa would probably do Jeopardy or one of the PBS Carmen Sandiego game shows if she were still a kid. www.diabolicalplots.com/dp-fiction-1... #WriteStuff
Jem in "A Letter to a Bully's Mother" is a kid baker when not a student. I imagine her alter ego would be inspector of ranching structures given what happens during a full moon. www.castofwonders.org/2023/05/cast... #WriteStuff

Aloha! Welcome to #WriteStuff where writers talk about writing.
Tonight weβre asking Six Incredibly Random Qs.
Iβm @pamportland.org here to host this weekβs conversation.
Introduce yourself and what youβve written recently. Say hi to everyone joining tonight!
Every time a woman runs for president I hear that sheβs too emotional and unstable to make wartime decisions, unlike the men in charge who make really reasonable decisions like bombing kids to death, starting water wars, and poisoning the entire planet

I'm so grateful for recent responses to Lessons in Magic and Disaster!!!
First, bookseller Rowan Julian with @novelneighbor.bsky.social in St Louis calls Lessons "a firecracker of a book" and "one of my favorites of 2025" in an utterly wonderful shelf-talker.

It'd be nice. I don't know if any of the books I've currently published are classic-worthy, but my ego would say that if any published short story makes the editors and readers emotional, I'd like it to become immortalized. Dream project would be writing a cathartic adventure kids story. #WriteStuff
I've read a lot of books published in the 2020s. My vote for would be for Angelica and the Bear Prince by @trungles.com for comics, Lessons in Magic and Disaster by @charliejane.bsky.social, and Amazing Grapes by the late Jules Feiffer for a story in-between those mediums. #WriteStuff
We are going to skim right by the fact that it was published in 2020 because it's still 2025, alright?!
Piranesi by Susanne Clark

Lots! Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro comes to mind, though. It had just come out in 2005, so it wasn't a classic at the time. These days, two decades later, it remains relevant as ever. #WriteStuff
I think if a work is still read twenty years later, that's a large fraction of a lifetime. It means that it endured long enough for someone to enter the world and mature. #WriteStuff
