I realize this is small potatoes in comparison to this week’s horrors, but a heads up cat parents - Hill’s Science Diet changed their formula on the dry Hairball and Urinary Tract food and it is hot garbage. The new formula is labeled chicken and rice instead of just chicken.
1) I don’t stop to listen to the person shouting conspiracy theories through a megaphone on the street, why would I do it online? 2) Imagine finding your own company so insufferable that you beg people you hate to come talk to you.

This specific paragraph fills me with rage:
1) “issues like democracy” like it’s a run of the mill policy issue and not the whole goddamn ballgame
2) “moved towards the center” so one might also say that they moved… left 🤔
The actual winning strategy for Dems might be to never listen to anyone involved in this nonsense ever again.
You might not know someone who had a “Nazi phase,” but you do know someone who has made a racist remark at a meal or meeting with no consequence. These guys don’t exist in a vacuum and we have to look at how we may be contributing to the environment that produces them.

The President turning the military against Americans is a bigger story than the shutdown and media outlets should treat it accordingly.

You do not have to redeem anyone’s actions to make them deserving of basic rights and freedoms, nor should you. If someone has to be “good” in order to deserve their humanity, you will forever be moving the goalposts and forever bending a knee to the arbiter du jour of good and evil.
You can believe that everyone deserves the right to a fair trial. That does not mean you condone the crime. You can believe that no one deserves to suffer from gun violence. That does not mean you have to condone a victim’s hate speech.
The way in which some people seem to be unable to understand that a belief in something for *all people* does not need to equal an endorsement of an individual’s actions within explains a lot about the public defender discourse that was happening on here a couple weeks ago.
Some folks in the comments need to realize even when they are saying things you agree with, it’s still a bad thing to have people being secretly paid mouthpieces for a lobbying group.
Dem members of Congress acting like the people having a giggle on the internet are the ones who can do something about this bill…actually explains a lot about their job performance.

Little tip for the fellas: do not start a conversation with a neighbor you have never once spoken to with “are you single?” Even if you mean well, it comes off as super creepy.
How easy is it for them to terminate a CBA? Based on the OPM memo sent out as a follow-up, it doesn’t sound like they actually know. The directive to agencies is to consult their General Counsel about how to implement the order.
Everything is terrible, but little things like this offer a brief moment of respite.
I hate that it’s probably going to take people’s favorite performers and athletes to start refusing to come to the US to get a sizeable chunk of the population to wake up to anything that is happening.
I would also be curious what the league has to say about ICE’s current practices because it is only a matter of time before an MLB player or prospect is on the receiving end of ICE’s abhorrent actions.
