That I’m aware of: all such precautions help reduce the likelihood of mould. But the cold external wall is a big issue.

The temperature is rising I know, but this is still worth mentioning. Many are unaware of this thermal lining paper. It’s extremely effective at insulating walls that are external. (Window bays etc). It helps with the reduction of mould in such areas. I’ve used it in my own home too.

This is ideal for you.

There is a particular process to finishing MDF. You can’t just paint it and job done. High grade sanding between coats with meticulous inspection is required to be able to achieve a high quality finish.

Original spindle repair from 1903. This section had previously been filled using regular wood filler that had failed. Here I’m recreating the profile using resin.
