I’m proud to be as “radical” and “woke” as the Germans that settled Gillespie.
Though I may not be German, their fight for people of all classes resonates.
I carry their history w/ me, because the fight for working people transcends any social construct.
Gillespie County (my hometown) in rural TX was one of the few counties that voted to stay in the Union as the rest of the state seceded in the Civil War.
Those German socialists were held at gunpoint, forced to accept slavery in the county, and murdered in the Nueces Massacre.

This is an important primary, and I must vote before 03/03. Now my only options are to either drive/fly, both of which cost money.
