watercolor image of Graveler from Pokémon, and the painting's counterpart on the right from the original Japanese Pokémon Blue which later would be used for the international Red/Blue Versions of the Game Boy Game. The painting is done sticking to the pose of the original sprite, but mimicking artist Ken Sugimori's watercolor-style, and keeping the form of the Pokémon more closely to its official non-sprite art of the time.
I'm actually pretty proud of this one. I almost thought the sprite's secondary hands were its feet.
This is so coooooool

This is one of the most infamous Pokémon sprites. I tried my best.
AI does not "assist" translators, it just makes their work harder, brings down the quality, and impacts their pay. 😭

By the way, if you're in TV or film, have pitched Warner or Paramount or really any studio, & believe that the Warner-Paramount deal will harm your ability to work or diminish your pay, go to this website and share your story. That's the evidence needed for a state AG case:

Snorlax is called Kabigon in Japanese. Koji Nishino, who was one of the game designers for the original game, and inspiration for カビゴン. Apparently he was nicknamed 'Kirby'.
Just a reminder while this is a victory, it's not over yet until Discord completely gives up on the age verification nonsense. Don't resubcribe to Nitro immediately.

This sprite. This is the best. Years ago a website reviewing all R/B sprites described Poliwhirl as "It looks so emotional, like its watching its house burn down".
Hilarious.
Damn straight

Wonder if I should have painted Poliwag darker like the sprite, but I am trying to adhere to the Sugimori art for the model.
I’m currently drawing as many original Pokémon in Sugimori’s style as I can! Yes, love the style

Granted, I was a child during these times, but I thought these kinds of ads were so cool that I got the clear Game Boy based purely on the ridiculous commercial. All my school friends said I'll regret it and I did. Should have gone for blue.
