While I agree, it wasn't tourists at our show Saturday. It was a vibrant and supportive group of people who live there. Everyone I talked to was a local, and everyone seemed very engaged in the music. It was at a recording studio too, not a bar. Everyone who came was there specifically for the show.

That's the fucked up part. Charleston SC is a coastal city and a huge tourist attraction. Idk what the disconnect is, but some towns have better fans? Maybe the grass is always greener. Idk.

I haven't been in the touring game for a while, but we did more to grow our band in one out of town show than we have in some of our biggest shows here in Charleston. That isn't to say it's a rule, but more to say that if you play indie, punk, emo, or hardcore: you need to play Myrtle Beach, SC.
