Anointing is when hedgehogs find a smell they like, lick it & create a saliva foam and cover their spines with it.

in the first panel, sonic stares at shadow, concerned by the question. Shadow is still, looking down and waiting for a response to an unanswerable question. In the next panel, "Oh1 that';s the cake!" Sonic says, hearing a ding. He dashes off, leaving shadow with the question, still unanswered. Shadow seems to sink into himself, if slightly. in the third panel, Sonic brings the tin with the baked cake laof, mittens on his hands. "Smells good!" He says happily. In the firth panel, he retreats the the fridge as shadow stands there, expression out of frame, partly in shadow. Sonic explains that, "I'll put the cake in the fridge so it cools faster, okay?" Shadow mutters, "mm." In the 5th panel, sonic seems to feel a bit guilty, closing the fridge. He isn't sure what to say, but decides to worry about it later, joining shadow in the last panel. "oh right, did you still want a rematch? The last race doesnt count since your cuffs nerfed you, heh." Shadow sits on the couch, armed crossed and silent. His eyes are closed.

Sonic hops onto the couch, "shadow?" Who quickly explains "I'm tired." Sonic doesnt let it bother him, "okay we can just watch some movies or soemthing! You pick!" He smiles. in the second panel, similarly to the first, shadow's eyes stay closed, although he moves slightly, now facing away from sonic, "I think I'll take a nap." Which surprises sonic, who doesnt let up. "What?!" He says, arms up in confusion, "You've had enough sleep-- we never have time to hang out, come on! You really ARE a bad host!" Shadow seems annoyed and looks further away, an eye opening as Sonic tries something unexpected, "How about teaching me choas control?? C'mon you saw how bad I was!" Shadow finally responds, a bit sny, "That was not chaos control that was glorified ring boosting." "Than teach me!" sonic shouts, unsure. He doesnt seem to notice shadow agreeing. Instead, Sonic continues to badger him in the final comic, having expected a bigger fight: "Please, please, please! You're literally the only one who can! I'll look so cool, imagine the crazy board tricks! I won't use it against you to show off-- I'll even grovel--oh ultimate lifeform--" Shadow stops him, more sternly, "I sad YES." Sonic is surprised and in an awkward praying position, stiffly responding "oh."

From outside, the wind blows some water planst and pollen, the waves of the pond gently licking the shore. Shadow makes an attempt to explain the art of chaos control: "You’re not thinking about it correctly. You see it as physically traveling from point a to point b, but chaos control is more than that. You have to feel the energy outside the emerald as it moves you." In the next panel, shadow continues, his hand waving in the air and eyes closed in a thoughtful way, "Youre not just using it as a means to enhance your speed, youre letting it's current pull you down river." But sonic's confused face says more than just his response: "You wanna say that in english?" Shadow seems to hide a sigh, waving his hand in a slightly aggitaed way, "When youre in your super form you dont think about moving in 3d space you just want to move up or down, left or right. You're not thinking about obstacles, you're just moving. Chaos control transcends your physical form." Sonic ponders the chaos emerald in his hand, making an effort to understand, but still he responds with a "Huh?"

Shadow lets out the sigh he held earlier, pointing to a small island in the middle of the pond. A single willow tree blows in the distance. "Consider that tree." he explains, "Youre not limited to stopping and going around. Just think og your direction and chaos will pull you up and over that tree." In the next panel, a close up of sonic cuts into the previous panel, interrupting shadow. He holds up the emerald in a confidenc stance, "Ohh, look beyond what I see..." His glamour is cut short as Shadow stops him in the final panel, His patience is short today as he seems to rumble, "Dont look at all! Youre tensing like youre about the run-- this isn't running idiot!" Sonic is put off, "H-hey!" he says in protest, his arm dropping a bit.

Sonic continues, as the sink flows. "And how's the team holding up with GUN at the helm?" "You mean Topaz?" Shadow asks, with sonic continuing, "She help unlock any fancy new powers or gizmos?" In the third panel, Sonic washes dishes as shadow drys them, with Shadow questioning, "Why are you asking about my team?" "I'm just wonder'n how Topaz manages a world class thief, a sapient walking arsenal, and the ultimate lifeform." Shadow responds dryly, "She knows our strengths." "And?" "...And what?" Sonic speeds through washing, becoming a bit impatient, "Team Dark's all over the news, an' before I getta chance to challenge you guys, you're split up again!" Shadow stands by, staring in confusion, as sonic continues, "Listen, our whole 'thing' is outdoing each other-- I can't even see you guys train or nothin'!" Sonic continues pressuring Shadow in the last panel, "How am I suppose to be your rival if I aint got nothing to rival off of?" Referring to being unable to one up shadow, if he isn't sure where shadow's power level is at... The whining finally results in shadow sighing, "Fine, if it shuts you up, GUN is just making sure we're still able to handle missions individually after so many complex cases. I can't give details, but..." He whips a plate dry, considering what to say.

In a dark flashback in an undisclosed location, a raid plays out. Rogue's silhouette is seen overlooking a base with two men in heavy gear, transporting unknown goods and carrying rifles. The cameras are covered by hearts. Shadow explains, Rogue often secures the area, hiding in shadows and blind spots, assessing what we do and don't know and taking out targets as needed. Hijacking cameras and clearing paths without arousing suspicion." In the next panel, Shadow peeks down a hall, covered in all black. He eyes a man with an assault rifle and prepares the attack, as Sonic laughs at the idea, "Sounds like rogue alright-- minus the stealin'" Shadow explains, "What she does in the dark is none of my concern, so long as I can get to the target." He continues in the next panel, leaping into the air and round house kicking the man, elaborating, " That said, I hate waiting... Why waste time sneaking when you can just knock them out and run past?" He fails to notice a mobian chameleon blending into the back, coming after him. Rogue quickly subdues the mobian in the following panel, much to Shadow's surprise, although he does elude to this, saying "It becomes annoying when they have heavy armor or mobians on their side..." Sonic makes light of this, "Annoying? Surely nothing annoys someone as level headed as you..." In the final panel, shadow seems to address a ground of unknown individuals, cast in shadow. They could be the target, GUN opratives or criminals, it's unclear. He raises an emerald and a finger to tell them to stay quiet. "Between her and Topaz, I can utilize my speed and chaos control to the best of my ability. Once I have the target secured and traps set, omega gets to have fun."

The shield boasts a GUN logo, but the only logo on the robot in a "G" on his lower legs. Shadow explains that, "He likes to charge in and surprise them, tanking their bullets as GUN collects. He'd rather blast through them, but that's not usually an option, so GUN is trying to create a reward system that let's him go wild, afterwards." Back to the kitchen, Sonic washes as Shadow dries, Sonic joking that, "you could say he's programmed to kill'." But Shadow quickly defends his team, "It's in his nature, yes. He was created to ravage anyone who threatens his creator." In the following panel is a shot of Omega guarding Shadow's capsule from "sonic heroes", as shadow continues, "But he was also built to guard... Protection is also part of his core coding." In the second to last panel, the sink is being emptied. Shadow's voice seems to becomes more tense, "But his code should not negate his sapience. He's much more than a code driven machine, yet many at GUN call Omega and "it". "that robot"." Sonic misunderstands, or maybe just tries to lighten the mood, accepting Omgea as a "Boy, got it!" with a thumbs up. Shadow is quick to jump back, "Gender isn't the issue, sonic! It doesnt matter the pronoun used, it's the inherent implication that he's not a person, but a tool." Sonic shrugs, "Not for nothin' but maybe a voice update might help... Myabe some digital eyes, idk."

In the first panel, sonic begins removing his washing gloves as Shadow gives him a questionable observation, confusing the blue hedgehog, "You're often immature and terribly obnoxious, Sonic, but your honestly might help me on this." to which sonic gives an odd "Ehh? Okay?" insinuating he'll listen. Shadow's voice becomes more insightful, as if pondering to himself, more so than asking Sonic a question, "He calls himself the ultimate arsonal and says he's the Doctor's greatest creation, considering all other models inferior. ...but he seems aggravated when he's reminded that he's still one of them. Omega wants true free will and thinks freedom lies in destroying his creator. But his code won't let him..." He continues in the next panel, as an image of Omega stands ominously, seemingly caught between flames and the eggman empire... Shadow's voice becomes intense, more immersed into his thinking, "When hetries to modify the Doctor's protection data, he crashes. Topaz wonders if instead, he's trying to replace Eggman's empire with GUN. Trick the code. But is replacing one controller with another really freedom?" In the next panel Sonic puts his hands up, casually responding, which surprises shadow, "Mannnn, If that egg had any control over Omega, he'd be sittin' in that Eggtower! Stop gettin' stuck on purpose and just follow your heart!" Despite Sonic telling shadow to drop the overthinking, shadow proposes another question, "Omega doesn't have a heart, he has a code...Is it really possible for Omega to find happiness by denying his primary directive forever?" In the last panel, Sonic seems to become aware that Shadow may not be talking about Omega, as he seems downtrodden as he postulates further, "But then, if he was to have his code rewritten without the Doctor's influence, would he still be the same person? Maybe he would lose it all...even the burden. Would you risk losing him to offer freedom?" Sonic seems tense, wondering if this relates to shadow...

Hey, I've been a little quiet lately, but I wanted to update you guys on health:

I ended up needing an emergency gallbladder removal, stones tuck in the duct. I still need to call a gyno to schedule tumor removal from ovary but otherwise feeling much better and I'm in contact with financial help
