I enjoyed Mafia: The Old Country.
Didn’t care for the ending but the storyline definitely had me invested throughout the gameplay.

Overall I thought the action scenes were still great. The zombies still stressed me out. I didn’t necessarily feel connected to the characters like I wanted to.
Overall 5.5/10 for me.
But the plot just ended up turning into something that I just didn’t want to see. Tammy might be immune and the military doesn’t have any protocols in place for her to be quarantined? Don (her husband) has a badge to go kiss her? With no supervision????????
Didn’t make sense to me.
SPOILER ALERT:
I also didn’t care for the characters as much. Which is sad because there was so much potential there. Don deserts his wife, Tammy. He lies to the kids about her “death” We found out later she’s alive. To me was the movie right there. How do you maneuver as a family through all this.
There being bombs throughout the city with fire blazing through the streets just took me out of the movie and truth be told, I feel like with this series it just works better to have the effects in your face and condensed. That’s what made the church scene for the first film so effective.
I’m not necessarily team “only practical effects in my film”. But one of the things that made the first film special was the simple lying of the bus on its side, and the cast and crew has like thirty minutes to get the shot. Blowing up the gas station while having multicam felt real.
28 Weeks Later:
I forgot how insane the beginning scene was. I was highly interested to relearn how things transpired. Then i remembered why I didn’t like this film as much as the first.
I thought the action scenes were still awesome but certain scenes with CGI were taking me out the movie.
I can see how this movie has high value in film culture. It’s a 9/10 for me.
The wide static shots of the empty landscapes create such dread, confusion, and hopelessness. The characters did really encapsulated how desperate they are to stay alive daily along with how urgent feels to get the hell out of dodge when the infected comes.
28 Days Later:
I won’t call the movie perfect but I genuinely see the impact it’s made for horror films (Especially zombie movies). I forgot how grainy yet gritty the scenes were. The handheld shots make everything so chaotic.
Watching “28 Days Later” and “28 weeks later” again has me super excited for the sequel coming up. I do have notes though.
