I think it’s great that he did that. It’s not about whether he spoke fluently, people really do appreciate the effort. And let’s face it, Japan may have been a bit hesitant about Canada’s deal with China…they’re not exactly BFFs.
Carney’s got a fine line to walk and I give him credit for doing it, meanwhile the other parties (none of which have any candidate remotely approaching Carney) get to take pot shots at the guy on the tightrope.
