Do you really need a literary agent? The short answer is no, it's technically possible to find a publisher on your own—but if you’re aiming for Big Five, you’re probably going to want one.

Can we PLEASE stop telling authors to cut other languages from their books? I’ve talked to multiple authors told to remove the Spanish. 😠 If readers can figure out what a hobbit is or casually drop “valar morghulis,” they can context clue their way through a real language.
