Yeah, they just weren't the same after Whalebone found religion.

I'm just over here doin' stuff with things. Don't mind me.
I'll take "Becoming an Insufferable Prick" for a thousand, Alex.
I designed a handle. That much is true. I designed it poorly, but I designed it.
Betamax (drops mic)
They're obviously wrong anyway. Coneheads is the superior movie.
And for those who use radians, well... you're just sick! Sick I tell you!
Happy Pi Day back? Boy, I wish that picture wasn't a reality. Worst part is, I think that might be on the low side presently. Hooray for us?
Question: Where do you source your rods? Do you have a particularly inexpensive place?
Happy Pi Day!
I shall do just that. After I buy the bead thingies for the ball. This little tie-rod end will make head tilt and the parallel linkages for the neck much cleaner and less... you know... duct tapey.
382?! I'm intrigued and also picturing a big creature made of bicycle spokes--which, to be fair, would totally work.
To those who celebrate, Happy Pi Day!
For everyone else, you'll just have to wait until June to celebrate Tau Day.
Puppet controllers. Printing one side now, should be done by morning in time for my pots to arrive.
Thumbs control eyes (each eye)
Index finger controls eyebrows
I'm working on a slewing mount so the right grip will twist, rotate, and tilt (nod, tilt head, and turn head).
I also need a jaw lever.
That's awesome! And tracking that all down. Well deserved!
Hey! As an American I feel it is my duty to inform you that you are mistaken, sir! We are much more observant than you give us credit for and would never mistakenly eat that sort of thing! That is clearly not a cleaning product.
Whalebone and foam should be here tonight (if Amazon is to be believed) and a bunch of 10k pots tomorrow. (I didn't have any on hand or anything to salvage them from, don't judge me!)
Ok. Sleep. Tomorrow: Boat and drawings for Burny--possibly clock #2 as well, but we'll see how it goes.
Meanwhile,
The whalebone and upholstry foam that I ordered a few days ago will be here tomorrow. I should have enough to do head, neck, and most if not all of the main body. I still need stretch velour and lycra but this stuff isn't cheap. Ok, it's fairly cheap, but I don't have money.
lol, that's certainly a point. I wouldn't expect anyone to get to what we're even hinting at in a week. More than likely, I'll get the controller and motors working, but the head will look like a skinless animatronic. It's going to take me time to cut and adhere the foam and then sew on Antron.
Oh, and I have an Anycubis Kobra S1.
Here is the list of head and neck controls I was planning. I don't think a large number would matter to your build since I was focused on facial expression. Also, eventually (down the road) Burny's head and neck will be mounted on a frame with body, wings, tail.
Sounds reasonable. Our designs may deviate in facial expression control.
Controller first is fine by me. I will follow up with a screen shot of my initial checklist when I started Burny (character count and all).
Fair enough.
How do you suppose we do this? Both build the same thing on either end or build individual pieces and somehow get them together (ship one way or the other)? I've never built a puppet long-distance.
Lighter?
Clock on door is complete, for now.

I'm following, but perhaps this might go faster over another communication channel? I mean, I'm cool doing everything here, and I'm sure there are some interested parties, but uh...
I met with AI data labelers in Kenya who are organizing their colleagues to fight the brutal working conditions and horrible pay given to the workers at the "bottom of the AI supply chain." They believe the NDAs they've signed are unenforceable so are speaking out:

I think they aren't afraid because they haven't met any automotive assembly line workers. Gee. I wonder why that is.
