Isnβt it amazing how quickly the price of oil went up. I wonder what has happened to all that oil that is in transit in tankers, in storage prior to being refined, and in storage after it has been refined?
For dinner last night I roasted a free range chicken and served it with roast potatoes, carrots and broad beans (all home grown) and hispi cabbage and a mushroom/ shallot gravy, followed by a home grown apple crumble. Tonight it's a chicken leek and mushroom pie with a green veg of some sort.

I tried growing it from seed with terrible reults, very few plants at all. Now they have self seeded all over the garden, growing in the gravel path, in the cracks between paving stones, everywhere. I love it.
I had to agree with the woman standing next to me who opined that there should be no Christmes tat displayed before December 1.

Just catching up after afew weeks away. I cut back any long shoots in after flowering, and then again about now - I got back to a real tangle. I leave heavy pruning until all the leaves have fallen, then you can see what you are doing.
"No, tis merely a scratch."
Now I must go away and put some potatoes on to bake. Bye.

One of my jobs for today was to replace the guttering on the newly painted porch, but I've had to postpone it because it's bloody raining.
