The policy being debated, which I think the mayor is likely to veto, is temporarily adding an extra 30 days notice (60 total) on evictions thru the summer, after which it will revert to existing 30. Seems like an especially small gesture considering the magnitude of what people have been through.

I know people are very sensitive about the use of the word “genocide” but the attempts to medically eliminate trans children is very clearly meets the standard because they are trying to eliminate a population and also they know some of those kids are going to kill themselves
A couple summers ago I was on a walk in Powderhorn with my kid at dusk, and a big toad (frog?) jumped right across the sidewalk in front of us, and kept on going to whatever amphibian park activities it was up to. I'd like to see more city frogs, turtles, lizards, whatever.
it’s never felt more stark to me, the way direct action, community defense, and a whole host of forms of refusal are being blunted by those see (and/or who want others to see) such actions as “disagreement with a policy” or “seeking policy change”

An important read I had opened in a tab the other day and just got to.
A few years ago I started replacing every "we should" with "I should" and this really helps me to stay grounded.
That things were back to that era really became clear to me in an escalated way seeing the promos for the Wicked movies. I was confused about whether things had actually gotten better and then worse or not but either way they seem so bad again.
A great episode of course. I haven’t gotten to this book yet, but am looking forward to it. I think so many of the political realities we face are shaped by how people come to know things, on the level of action that this conversation is about.

just found out we’ve directly paid march rent for just shy of 130 families through the mutual aid funds that we’ve been raising through the salon ♥️ this is in addition to what we’ve been doing through venmo and whatnot. we ran a separate fundraiser through chuffed that was very successful
