An absolute menace. My tummy hurts and I’m mad at the Government. Sometimes funny. AKA: Manda, Amanda, Manders. *opinions are mine* #freePalestine Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki. (Halifax, NS) https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/10ED3C25RAUAL?ref_=wl_share

There was a “no hugs” rule - and there was death metal karaoke. A night to remember (mostly. I did get pretty drunk ha!)

I could live off only them (and my emotional support smoothie) I swear haha

Chicken breast chunks (a step up from nugs) so 15g of protein. Not great. But not bad! lol

So sometimes I have to really force myself to eat something, even an apple and PB - I almost always feel much better. My old doctor said I had a “nervous stomach”. Lol

I’m terrible for it when I’m under stress. I always have a hefty protein rich smoothie in the morning - but then I’m like “food? In this anxiety state?? No thanks”. Which is a cycle, because without food my brain stops coping with stress. Weee

*love this skeet*

Thank you. Truly. It’s incredibly validating to know it’s not just me being bad at it through heavy grief - but that’s it’s actually just very hard to navigate.

It was actually the last hali-tweet up ever.

Which is kinda sad.

What would we call them now? Skeet ups??? No thanks 😅

And every time I come up against something or there is a slow down, I’m so sad that I’m doing this, because I miss my mom so much. And I know she would be sad that this has been so hard mentally.

It’s been so hard.
My mom died unexpectedly without a will. Named no one on her accounts. It’s cost me so much money up front to deal with it - it’s been 10 months since I started the process and it’ll be 2-4 more months until it’s cleared and I’m able to recoup, distribute her funds. :/

Whatever. It’s food. It counts.

My arthritis was awful Sunday and Monday. Eased off a bit yesterday and today - I hope you get some relief (and sleep) soon

I also haven’t eaten today other than my smoothie and that is causing my brain to malfunction and everything feels unmanageable.

Gluten free chicky nugs and homemade sweet potato fries to the rescue. Maybe I’ll be able to brain once I eat 🥴

I know so many folks who rely on this market to access affordable food. I access it myself on occasion. It’s a gift to community and to see it lose even a dollar of funding is heartbreaking

11.03.2026 21:18 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I’d do almost anything for the bridge tolls to come back. Like, maybe make them a dollar again but bring. Them. Back.

It’s been a day. A. DAY.

Nothing life altering, just absolutely zero things going my way from car trouble to missing work this eve, to my mom’s estate stuff to dropping a whole cup of coffee on the floor

I am over it. Today can stop.

Ah haha maybe we can cause the world to shut down again!??

MOBILE FOOD MARKET
The Mobile Food Market is facing a 20% reduction in provincial funding for food security programs.
These cuts will require us to make adjustments to staffing and will impact our capacity to provide dignified and affordable food access to communities that already experience higher rates of food insecurity.
Each week, the Mobile Food Market supports thousands of individuals and families by working alongside 35 community organizations, 11 schools, and 3 seniors' buildings, while operating 5 weekly markets across our communities.
At a time when affordability is becoming increasingly out of reach for many households, and when food programs across the province are seeing reductions, the need for accessible food supports has never been greater.
Our work focuses on bringing dignified and affordable access to healthy food directly into neighbourhoods where transportation, cost, and other barriers make it difficult for people to access fresh food.
Now is not the time to reduce investments in food security.
We need your help.

Mobile Food Market update;

While 20% may not seem like a lot - it has a huge impact on this incredibly essential service.

NOTICE TO OUR COMMUNITY
Update on Provincial Program Funding
Kwe' to our community in Kjipuktuk and across Mi'kma'ki.
Over the past day there have been announcements that the Province of Nova Scotia has restored funding to a number of community programs.
We want to clarify that the Mikmaw Native Friendship Centre programs previously identified as facing reductions remain affected at this time.
The following programs have not had their funding restored:
• Family Resource Program
• Youth Outreach Program
• A Place to Belong Program
• Funding previously received through L'nu Affairs
We are grateful to see support reinstated for organizations and services that are important to many L'nu & Nova Scotians generally. However, our program funding has not been reinstated. Critical preventative supports for Indigenous youth and families - including justice system navigation, family support services, and work that helps address and prevent domestic violence - still remain in question and at risk.
As previously shared, the loss of this funding means we continue to face staff layoffs and reduced service capacity, which places additional strain on the remaining programs and services delivered by the Centre.
We remain committed to advocating for the restoration of these critical supports and will continue to keep our community informed.
Wela'lioq for your continued trust.

The premier of Nova Scotia’s ENTIRE plan is based on oil and gas extraction. He just said it on air. That is his only plan. Our biggest industry is tourism and he just cut $$ to tourism, arts & conservation (all reasons why people come here).

A restoration of $53m

Arts and Culture have still taken a massive hit and not all cuts have been fully restored - but disability support cut seems to have been restored in its entirety? Thank goodness

FamilySOS lost 100% of their provincial funding, funding they used for their Family Support Program. 8/10 families using this program were referred by CPS, the NS justice system, the IWK, or SchoolsPlus. This government seems to have no idea what they’re doing.
