A portrait I made of Nymetra, an NPC tavern keeper and special someone my dragonborn paladin Frost is now getting to know in a D&D game. My target was a “(dragon) girl next door” and everyday fantasy denizen vibe, not an epic adventurer or heroine. I’m happy with the result, and her smile. :-)

I own this. It's an excellent read.

They open the storage unit and pause as the power flickers. The statue of twisted rubber bands has holes for eyes and knives for fingers.

“It only kills unseen,” a thief says. “Keep—”

The lights fail.

“Oh, sh—”

In total darkness, there’s the stretch-twang of rubber.
