Child 1 had seen the recent JJ Abrams movies and enjoyed them. We watched Strange New Worlds together and he thought it was great. We went and watched Discovery season 2 if only for Anson Mount; I've shown him bits of Trek history for contrast.
In sum; SNW is a modern show and great fun

Agreed. It is... disappointing. Mrs J works in a primary where the lack of funding, funding cuts, and lack of support for some challenging situations is not a long term plan for success

And another thing. It is REALLY tedious to open a news page every day and see photograph after photograph of the same worst possible humans gurning back at me. It's like a wanker's yearbook.

Interesting thread about poor behaviour in schools and political posturing which doesn't deal with many of the challenging root causes.
