Finally did something new to share here! The motion data/rig Nerissa provided was reeeeally tough to work with in blender but super fun. So glad she let us use it! Been just dealing with snow for three days so it was nice to work on something spontaneously. Now, to finish my chattino model...

Also what the fuck are chattini?! Been watching Raora for 18 months, seen a billion chattini and it took until putting some ears on my model to be like, “oh it’s kind of like an alien mouse”. I know they’re canonically plushies, but I never really thought about what animal they kind of look like
They look too cool. I'd buy a cheap picture frames from the dollar store, flatten them in there, and hang them around my house lol.
The eyes are maaaaybe temporary but the bug eyed craziness is kinda growing on me. I'll have to play around with it some more and see. I do like the slight gradient in the pupil though. That's staying.
I don't like that I've become secretive with my WIP models. Like I shouldn't show them until they're finished. I'm going to post more WIPs. Especially since they're taking me longer to finish these days. Silly to talk about them but not even share! It's a chattino!
Long way to say I’ve been pushing and pulling six vertices for like two hours and just staring at them from a million angles and different lighting. Getting a little too in to the unimportant details here…
Turns out one of the bigger problems I have with 3D modeling now is I’ve actually gotten better at it. And it’s made me very particular. I used to just throw things together until it at least somewhat looked like the character I was going for. Now I care more about making it RIGHT.
Not even sure if I want to use it in an animation right away. I have an idea for one, but it involves another holo fan mascot model that I still have to finish. And that’s ones even more complicated. Would be kind of cool to showcase both at once so it might be a few more days. Hmmm.
Happy to report I finally locked the fuck in, picked one of my WIP models to work on, and actually worked on it. Actually basically restarted it which worked out well, but I’ve been jumping between too many projects. Should finish it tomorrow! Maybe. We’ll see how rigging and weight painting goes
Worst part is I’ve had this in my head for like four months. I had to get it out. And it’s part 1 of a 3 part series…
