Scientists are overrated when fakery is cheaply available and spread from the top.
When we reward an idiot for their idiocy, they believe they are genius.

Immune evasion through mitochondrial transfer in the tumour microenvironment - Nature Mitochondria with mutations in their DNA from cancer cells can be transferred to T cells in the tumour microenvironment, which leads to T cell dysfunction and impaired antitumour immunity.

Cancer uses a sinister trick to evade the immune system: it hijacks T cells by transferring faulty mitochondria, weakening their ability to fight.

This groundbreaking discovery reveals why some immunotherapies fail and opens new paths for treatment.

Our new study shows that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein accumulates & persists in the body for years after infection, especially in the skull-meninges-brain axis, potentially driving long COVID. mRNA vaccines help but cannot stop it🔬🧠🦠🧵Your weekend read👇

Persistent SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in the skull-meninges-brain axis may drive long COVID neurological symptoms.

Induces neuroinflammation, proteome changes, & worsens outcomes in stroke/brain injury models.

Vaccination reduces but doesn't eliminate accumulation.

New injection treatment could be a game-changer for people with asthma and COPD An injection given during some asthma and COPD attacks is more effective than the current treatment of steroid tablets, reducing the need for further treatment by 30%.

🚨 The injectable drug benralizumab significantly reduces asthma and COPD flare-ups by targeting eosinophils, a type of white blood cell involved in inflammation.
This treatment decreases the need for hospitalization by 30%.

Can be a game changer.

NHS staff psychological wellbeing: system-level changes needed System-level changes such as improvements in working conditions are essential in order to improve the psychological wellbeing of NHS staff.

Researchers found that to address the epidemic of mental ill health among HCPs, workers needed:

Targeted MH interventions
Hot food
Rest areas/lockers
Free parking

Essentially staff just need to be valued & treated like human beings.

Rocket science it is not.

WHO calls for stronger surveillance of H5N1 bird flu among animals A World Health Organization official on Thursday called for stronger surveillance in animals for evidence of infection with H5N1 bird flu in order to curb its spread.

Déjà vu!

Atleast adhere to the advice this time, in time.

Between 2013-2021, cervical cancer mortality in U.S. women under 25 dropped by 62%, thanks to widespread HPV vaccination. Yet, vaccination rates fell to 75.9% in 2023.

Let's prioritize protecting the next generations.

Vaccines Rock no matter what the anti vaxxers claim falsely.

Individuals can only do so much at this stage. Leaders/ policy makers can do a lot more.
COVID protection measures plus the ones below, and use of masks appropriately are key at individual level, especiallt those at higher risk. Individuals can surely raise the concerns to wake up policy makers.

Experts say bird flu is more widespread than we think: ‘We are in a soup of virus’ “We are in a soup of virus. I mean, there’s virus everywhere around us at this point,” one scientist said

FYI. In case you plan to 'warn' your policy makers by making some noise about this. They should be proactive this time, before it is too late.
H5N1 virus has been spreading in mammals across many countries, and has had human cases too.

New study on COVID-19 vaccines for kids 6-24 months:
Mild reactions like fussiness (30%) and fever (14%) common, severe cases rare (0.3%).
Moderna had slightly higher reaction rates than Pfizer.
Vaccines remain SAFE & effective for young children.

Avian Influenza A(H5) Outbreak | Center for Outbreak Response Innovation

Current risk for human transmission is low , but the way policy makers are sleeping over the spread , this might change.
We can't be exposing the world to yet another fast spreading deadly virus.

H5N1 has spread to many countries. This is how it can spread e.g. from cows to humans on a dairy farm.
As always Govts won't act proactively to save the spread so we need to spread the awareness.

Great news that a kit can detect the H5N1 in under three hours. Can differentiate from other avian viruses too. Otherwise it would take a few days.

Can be really helpful in prevention and spread of H5N1.

Why a teenager’s bird-flu infection is ringing alarm bells for scientists A strain of avian influenza is showing signs of adaptation to human hosts, but there is no evidence that it can transmit from person to person.

H5N1 has mutated. No human to human transmission detected yet. Can mutate to acquire that hence the concerns. Causes conjunctivitis and severe lung issues.Older vaccines might help but further research on vaccines ongoing.
