On substance, this is really dumb. Mainstream actors and institutions should not platform or “debate” far-right politicians and activists who are never arguing in good faith and only seek to establish an aura of “respectability” for their extremist ideas. It can only ever help the extremists.
I must say I’m dismayed at the number of people who still think hosting extremists for a conversation is fine as long as you ask “tough questions” and “push back forcefully.”
