It also makes the UK more dependent on Russian and American fossil fuels as the North Sea runs out.

Previously 82% fossil fuel lobby if I remember correctly. More crypto now.

Misread this as haricot. Both apply. I despise beans and they have no place in an English breakfast.

My late GF did this and also came from a slow eating family. I come from a shovel it down and run out to play when everybody is finished family. I β€œhelped her finish” by eating the best bits that she’d saved far too often before understanding.

That’s just the design idea from MIT. I will tweak it somewhat to also dry fruit in autumn.

I am thinking of building a solar kiln for all the wood produced by coppicing mine.

After work in the pub with my our CEO. I mentioned that I was doing some gardening at the weekend. The CEO said β€œseriously, who on earth does gardening at the weekend?” and the entire group raised their hands. Large group of young IT consultants in the middle of the dot com boom.

Hydrogen embrittlement - Wikipedia

I was on a Domestic Energy Assessor course recently. It was amazing how many of the lecturers thought domestic heating with hydrogen was still going to be a thing. Appeals to metallurgy fell on deaf ears - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroge...

I don’t dare watch it again because I remember it fondly along with The Tomorrow People as being clever and fabulously spooky. I suspect it was wobbly scenery and dodgy acting in reality.

Did the US submarine pickup any survivors or did it just leave them to drown while waiting for Sri Lanka to save them.

Wow! Kemi Badenoch sounding desperate, uninformed, and a little deranged at PMQs. I am not a fan of Starmer (especially on Gaza) but he is utterly trouncing her. #PMQs

So Trump is off to start another war in the middle east having told all his former NATO allies he won’t help defend them. I wonder which country will be the first to tell him they won’t be helping him out this time.

#r4today bleeped completely appropriate swear words being used by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview this morning. Given the furore over the BBC editing (or not) Tourette’s tics and Free Palestine speech at the BAFTAs they seem to be doing their usual and overreacting in completely the wrong way.

The US broke from England because England insisted on honouring treaties with the native Americans. The monarchy and taxation guff was just spin by the wealthy who wanted to ignore the law, kill the natives, take their land, and make more money. So, completely consistent with the current US regime.

More in USD I imagine. Designed for cheaper manufacture rather than maintenance.

Still a huge rich/poor divide for time to justice though. Andrew M-W has had to be gradually reduced over decades to reach a point where he can be arrested and it is still for a lesser, more easily prosecuted crime. Al Fayed was more obvious and died of old age before his crimes were prosecuted.
