when i was younger i thought that status moves in pokémon that alter stats would just add/subtract from the base stats. e.g. using sword dance would only increase the pokémon's attack base stat by 2 as opposed to DOUBLING it. so i did not think that status moves were good and never used them

...given that other franchises only release every few years, but the pokémon game studio, game freak... doesn't really work on other games so pokémon gets frequent releases, although sometimes they are smaller ones such as DLCs for previous titles

plus, the current generation began in 2022 (when the last main titles released, scarlet and violet) , making this one as long as 5 years. pokémon generations are usually 3 or 4 years long, so weirdly, to pokémon fans it feels like they're actually taking their time on this one. it might seem odd..
i wasn't intending to come across as argumentative, sorry if it seemed that way. pokémon often releases yearly, and most people expected these games to come out by the end of this year so if anything it's a little later than usual.

They're OK... they feel a little flat and simplistic, and reusing the grass bird and water amphibian ideas is kinda lame, but I don't dislike them. Ponbon is my favourite. I hope he stays on four legs
