This is a good lesson for journalists: Use plain language to state true things clearly.

Whining to the refs worked.

The minute they mentioned the 3rd period stat I knew things were gonna go bad

I'm guessing Colton, Drury, and possibly a pick or two.
Had to fit it under the cap somehow. I'm hoping it wasn't nuke.

Awesome. Now what did it cost us?

I would definitely prefer not to lose Val.
Problems aside, when he's healthy and on he's amazing.
And considering Drury doesn't seem to want to sign an extension, by all means we should move on while we can get something, as long as we can replace him, which we may have just done! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Roy kinda sounds like a replacement for Val.

This is a bombshell: "the Pentagon wanted the company to allow for the collection and analysis of unclassified, commercial bulk data on Americans, such as geolocation and web browsing data"

This kind of agenda echoes the defunded Total Information Awareness effort, post-9/11

So.
Was the strike on the children's school intentional to provoke a greater response from Iran in order to justify an even greater use of force in our retaliation to their strikes made in response to our slaughtering of their children.

We are At War now, according to President Bush, and I take him at his word. He also says this War might last for "a very long time."
Generals and military scholars will tell you that eight or 10 years is actually not such a long time in the span of human history - which is no doubt true - but history also tells us that 10 years of martial law and a wartime economy are going to feel like a Lifetime to people who are in their twenties today. The poor bastards of what will forever be known as Generation Z are doomed to be the first generation of Americans who will grow up with a lower standard of living than their parents enjoyed.
That is extremely heavy news, and it will take a while for it to sink in. The 22 babies born in New York City while the World Trade Center burned will never know what they missed. The last half of the 20th century will seem like a wild party for rich kids, compared to what's coming now. The party's over, folks.

From Hunter S. Thompson’s ESPN page 2 column one week after 9/11.

Still not a fan of the value though. For that second rounder, it would have been nice to see them retain a bit of salary.

Malinski's play this year kinda made him redundant and his being slightly less durable than other players of his caliber was a big strike. The game plan against him, especially in the playoffs, has always been obvious. Hit him every chance you get, & sooner or later he'll be out of the lineup.

Any real issue I have with this trade starts with the belief that we could not have done better for a second and Sammy than this.
And I don't buy that at all.

24.02.2026 18:34 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

When you frame this trade in the context of clearing $5 million off next year's salary cap for Cale's extension, it starts to make sense.
Also adding a significant amount of cap space approaching the trade deadline can always be helpful.
But still a steep price to pay to shed a good offensive d-man.
