The Grove and Rufford Hunt trudged round the delights of a sewage works yesterday at Hodsock Cottages, Blyth, Notts. The huntsman wasn't having a good day π
Yesterday we sabbed the Grove and Rufford hunt who met at Saundby Park farm near Gainsborough.
We joined our good mates from Lincoln Sabs and had a wet and soggy day keeping tabs on the hunt.
We saw a *brace* or pair of foxes running from the hunt, sabs intervened and they got away.
AHAB
Today we found the Grove and Rufford at Laxton.
Sabs stayed with them throughout the morning, and early afternoon hounds were seen speaking before charging west on the scent. Itβs no wonder the huntsman returned soon after to try and pick up again on the fox's scent.
They packed at 1500
Our morning started peaceful. No hunts out
Just as we were calling it a day, local info came in, leading us to find the Grovez hunting on foot by Sturton le Steeple around 2pm.
Sabs kept with the hounds, as hunt staff were relayed on quad bikes, hunting until dark, packing after 4.30.

This morning we kept the pressure on the criminal, fox killingΒ Grove and Rufford hunt by demoing theirΒ Annual "Fun" Ride at Broomhill Grange Farm, in Edwinstowe.

Yesterday we were back out making sure the Grove and Rufford Hunt don't kill any foxes: youtube.com/shorts/d9qzH...
Last Saturday we intervened to stop the Grove and Rufford Hunt killing a fox. @nottspolice.bsky.social need to do something about this hunt youtu.be/H6ibkxMcaNE?...
The Grove and Rufford Huntsman wasn't happy to see us on Saturday - they hunted multiple foxes and cut their hounds to shreds forcing them to hunt through elephant grass.
We stopped the Grove and Rufford Hunt next to Clumber Park yesterday
We've got a stall here on Sunday - come say hi - @sheffieldradicalbookfair on insta for more details of the event
The Grove and Rufford Hunt aren't even pretending to lay a trail this season. They're blatantly trying to hunt foxes and that means that they lost control of the hounds in this field of cows.
The Grove's new huntsman was convicted of fox hunting last summer but it obviously hasn't put him off.
It's not changed, they still get away with fox hunting just like they always did. This govt say they're going to tighten the law but we'll see
@huntsabs.org.uk heya, how do we get reposts on bluesky?
Great news, it's the beginning of the end for hunts when they can't hang onto hunt staff
Any donations towards our equipment and fuel to keep us stopping the hunt are always appreciated PayPal.me/SheffHuntSaboteurs
It was great to see how many dog walkers and passersby hate the hunt around Laneham. Multiple people stopped to tell us how disgusted they were with the Grove and Rufford arrogantly continuing to carry on hunting despite it being illegal.
The Grove then went south and hunted the willow plantations. Supporters leered from the roadside hoping to see them on a fox but we kept up with hunt, stopping the opportunity to chase a fox
Wet Friday Afternoon Hunt Sabotaged Around Laneham - the Grove and Rufford Hunt again tried sneaking out to avoid us but we found them putting the hounds into their favourite coverts in the shadow of Cottam Power Station.
All that was left was for all the remaining hunt members to help Wally spend the next half hour gathering loose hounds. Some supporters even had to bring out their dog leads to help; what a shambles.
For one last ditch attempt at a kill, hounds were cast into scrub by the main Rollestone Road. Hunt members scrambled as they tried to prevent a fox cub from leaving the bramble patch, allowing the cub to run straight past sabs, who covered their scent and allowed them to escape
Despite covering a lot of ground, very little happened for the rest of the morning. The hunt decided to drag the morning out, by drawing Rollestone Gorse right by the meet to no avail.
The hunt spent the morning traipsing the hedges and banks of the Trent between Rolleston and Staythorpe, with all seven field riders following behind. At one point, huntsman Whalley spent a decent amount of time trying to kill a fox in a boat yard on the banks of the Trent
Dawn rises over Staythorpe power station as we stopped convicted huntsman Jacob Whaley chasing foxes along the River Trent this morning. 1/x
But by 6:30pm he'd done wallowing in sewage, and was taking his hounds back to the meet.
Without a moment's delay, we jumped back in the van, and headed back to the pub...
They hunted the land around Rampton Secure Hospital, and the sewage works (all the glamorous places) with huntsman Whalley doing his usual 'Where's Wally' trick of getting off his horse to rampage through the woods with his hounds.
Hounds in a field with hunt saboteurs watching
We found the Grove and Rufford Hunt at Beardsall Farm near East Drayton. They spent the day half heartedly hunting in scrub and woodland but there was a lack of holding up or terrier work, the more overtly nasty bits of hunting. Presumably that was the plan they had to change with us turning up.
Hunt supporters hold a gate closed with huntsman and hounds behind it. Hunt Saboteurs are in the foreground.
Hunt plans ruined at secretive Friday evening outing - As we turned up a hunt supporter said to the huntsman "I guess we'll have to change our plans" What were they planning that they couldn't do when we turned up?
