Trying not to catastrophise about the fact that the review of hormones for 16-18yo trans people that led to their banning for new patients is being followed up by a review for hormones for adult trans people. But am failing tbh and just want to run away from everything

I say stuff to NHS managers like “There is no solution to this that doesn’t involve some of your colleagues being punished,” and they look at me like I’m from Mars. The idea that we can be harmed and that we might want or deserve redress for that harm is incomprehensible.

Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful.

Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.

Medical transition for trans kids is now banned for new referrals on the NHS. Trans kids in the UK can still go private or DIY (for now).

This means the new clinics that replaced GIDS are close to useless at best, conversion therapy at worst. 1/5

I'm seriously wondering what people think HRT is. It isn't some magic, mysterious potion. It's chemicals that simply have your body do something it is already programmed to do. It's responding to which signals it gets. It doesn't care what they are.
