I was born a hearing person. by the age of 28 I speak 3 languages, understand 6 more, now I study lip-read and RSL. and oh boy was I shocked when I learned how different all the sign languages are. now imagine all the deaf refugees struggling in EU with very little means to communicate… shit

welcoming stage 2 of hearing loss into my life I cannot stop thinking about all the deaf people who were misplaced because of war in Ukraine. those people must be completely isolated in their new environment and it breaks my heart
