I always complained about having too many choices at Blockbuster and hated the decision-making process there, so you can imagine how I feel about the current state of movie selection.

Recently picked this one up on a recommendation from our local bookseller and my 11-yo daughter is loving it. She says it may just unseat The Bellwoods Game as her favourite book ever.
I personally find time changes to be no big deal, but if we ever abolish it, I want DST all year. I go to work/take my kids to daycare in darkness in the winter anyway. Would barely notice if the sun rose one hour later and weβd have the benefit of a tiny amount of daylight after school/work.
I have been known to yoink a tooth out of a sleeping child in this situation.
I hadnβt cried that hard for anything in recent years. I donβt know if I want to watch the movie.
Sliding on frozen water in various ways is my favourite thing to do βΊοΈ
Just finished a book set mostly in Ethiopia and now desperately craving the food. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best #Winnipeg Ethiopian restaurant?
I went to a very small school, so my high school friends were also nursery school friends. They are almost more on the level of family since we grew up together. I get to see of 3 them regularly at our book club. 4 others I keep in touch with sporadicly.

βMom, when you ski down the hills, you look like you donβt really know what you are doingβ, is an example of the encouraging things my daughter says to me while we cross country ski.
Why anyone would actively choose to live in a place without winter is beyond me.
Iβm someone who it is slightly better for. One bus instead of needing to transfer (with the trade-off of a longer walk). But overall not better as bus bunching still happens frequently and people being passed by because of crowding happens much more frequently.
I have been very inspired lately watching the olympians do all their winter sports. I forgot about the Jack Frost challenge though!
Sometimes I dream of keeping a stockpile of headphones in my backpack and passive aggressively handing them out to people on public transportation.
Banana chocolate chip featuring all the bananas from the bottom of my freezer.

Tell me you watched a few skiing videos on instagram yesterday without telling me:
Hi from Winnipeg, I would honestly gladly switch back. I hate the slushy brown snow on the roads that happens above -10 and Iβm not ready for any melting on the ski and ice trails until March!
Yes! Still one of my favourite movies (and soundtracks).
Timeline cleanse. Teenage crush?
Iβve lived in a place with mild winters and where I could see the ocean and mountains from my living room, but thatβs not the place for me.
There are not too many places in the world where you can go for a 10 km skate on a frozen river on a random Tuesday afternoon, and Iβm immensely grateful to live in one of them. #Winnipeg
I only just noticed that Apple thinks I am skateboarding when Iβm ice skating. lol.
I really should make a spreadsheet that tracks layers of clothing, temperature, windchill, and activity intensity so I can remember from year to year.
And in the end did it feel like too much? This has been my problem the last few days, how to be protected enough from the wind but also not ending up way too sweaty. By the time I get the right combo figured out it will probably be back to above-normal temps.
Day 3 of skating on the Nestsweya River trail in #Winnipeg as often as possible. I did not stop thinking about how wrong it is that I can enjoy a peaceful skate with my family while people a few hundred kms south are out demonstrating in these same temperatures with no peace or safety. β€οΈ to MN.
Yeah believe it or not, people who need to get around by foot in winter bundle up for it. And itβs no fun getting all sweaty indoors.
