This week is hydrocephalus awareness! I have the congenital kind and the symptoms are managed by a shunt that Iβve had since I was 14 years old - the original one was installed when I was 18 months old and Iβve only ever had one revision besides that, due to an infection. Tell me your questions! π

I will (whale) adapt
A woven patch featuring stages of evolution of the whale, a reminder of resilience, change, and adaptation.
A little reminder I found to be important, especially in these times.

The Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus) - the largest truly aquatic frogs in the world.
They're found at 3,920m above sea level, in Lake Titicaca.
These frogs are famous for their loose, baggy skin folds, which allow them to absorb oxygen directly from the water.

It will escalate beyond a headache if the hydrocephalus is not treated. For me fatigue goes with it, then it progresses to vomiting and then seizures- we donβt want it to go beyond that! It is hard to tell which is why they let the symptoms get so bad the first time. They thought I was dramatic.
We keep on keeping on!
Interesting to hear how others live with this - thank you for sharing! I have cerebral palsy, dyspraxia and autism too.
Thanks for your question! I get head rushes if I move my head too suddenly- minute adjustments though; happens a lot when I get my hair cut lol. I donβt get headaches! If I did I would go straight to A&E as that is a symptom the shunt is not working.
I did! Iβve seen it in cats too. Also a bear!

Scientific Shot of a Peacock mantis shrimp eyes which are the most advanced in the animal world. Photo by Daniel Sasse.
the mantis shrimp has 16 types of color receptors.
humans have 3.
we see roughly 10 million colors and think that's impressive.
the mantis shrimp is sitting there processing a visual reality so hyperchromatic that scientists genuinely aren't sure what it's like to be one.

Sad to be returning to work and BSky with some rubbish news. Scammers are now stealing photos of fursuit makers' creations and using AI to edit them. They then proudly post the slop as their 'latest creation' to dupe people.
Be vigilant out there, and please do share. This is crazy.

A red panda takes its rest between two logs on a large sturdy platform, using the gaps in the wood as a pillow. Somehow, the panda finds this comfortable. They can make the most uncomfortable spots a perfect nap spot

Statement about the clousre of Brewdog, reading: RE: BrewDog and the future of ScouseFurs Hi everyone. As a lot of you all may have seen by now, BrewDog has come under new acquisition which has lead to a lot of their venues across the country being closed effective immediately and it's with a heavy heart to say to that Liverpool's branch was included amongst those. As we now have no place to host the meet, we have decided the best course of action is to cancel this month's meet. This is the last thing we want to do but, what we need is this time to seek out a new venue to host us. In the meantime we will still have what would be, the after-party at Pixel Bar starting at 5pm on Sunday 15th March. This closure has come by surprise to all of us but for the time-being, just bear with us. We are already planning out our next moves to find a new place to call home for the meets, we just might need a bit more time than just these next 2 weeks. As soon as we have something, we'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks. ScouseFurs Staff
