In a just Scotland, everyone could afford to heat their home.
But the cost of heating oil has gone up from about 70p a litre in December, to around 90p a litre today.
That's why we're calling on the UK Gov to help.

💙 Make the School Meal Debt Fund permanent (until it is no longer needed)
💚 Increase free school meal eligibility to all low-income families receiving the Scottish Child Payment to prevent school meal debt in the first place
🚨 Hundreds of thousands in Scotland face hunger as hardship drags on.
📦 200,000 emergency food parcels were provided across Scotland in 2025.
🧒 56% of parcels were for families with children.
📈 That’s down 13% on 2024 but up 64% since 2015.
While inflation is easing, hardship isn’t.
The main reason people need to use a food bank in Scotland is a lack of income, with 3 in 4 referred unable to afford the essentials.
Scotland goes to the polls in 2 months.
We’re calling on all of Scotland’s political parties to commit to bold action next session to ensure no one needs to use a food bank to survive.
