Also Max Fried might be more likely than Burnes and he’d most likely go for less. Maybe get Bregman, he doesn’t expand or swing and miss. Maybe look into trading for Vladdy, if that’s on the table, do it immediately. Kyle Tucker is a free agent after next season, get him for ‘26. There’s options.

I understand it sucks losing Soto, there isn’t another one of him, but there are a ton of ways to win in baseball, Yankees have a ton of holes to fill and just showed us exactly how much they’re willing to spend to fill them

Only thing is the Yankees are endlessly frustrating with their prospects though so while I’d like to either bet on those two or predict they get traded for a bat now, you just can’t since they don’t treat them the way other organizations treat theirs.

Unless they can get him for some insanely cheap number, I dont think so. Every media member around the Yankees has spoken like theyre ready to move on from him. It would make sense to look for a short term deal for a better defender with Arias and Lombard both ~2 years away, maybe Kim?

Juan Soto to the Yankees is starting to feel even less like a reality each day, I like Santander as a backup but they'll need much more

Actually Jones also got popped for steroids so throw him with the others. I think if any of them ever get in it’ll be from some committee ballot down the line, not the writers ballots

Manny and Pettitte are steroid guys, I think if they go so should A-Rod, and I really don’t think any of that is happening. Jones is interesting, he only has 1900 career hits and a .254 avg. but has 430 homers and 10 gold gloves. He has a worthy 7yr peak but I’d still be surprised if he makes it

I think there are two locks out of the first balloters, Ichiro and CC. Felix could make it be but might have to wait since his numbers fell off towards the end

I’d think the only other guy with a shot is K-Rod. Beltran and A-Rod can’t. Torii Hunter is a fun thought for defense but thats about it.
