I feel it's wrong that I immediately think: oh hey I think an ex of mine did this when he worked with <redacted> and also I'm pretty sure it's some unholy perl code given the time period etc ๐คฃ

A stack of freshly made blue corn tortillas in a tortilla warmer with a blue and white gingham pattern on the inside.
An arch of three tacos with one in the background: there are ble corn tortillas, shredded cheese and then a mix of chipotle marinaded pork, onions, and pineapple chunks. It was tasty AF.
There were dinner tacos.
No ragerts!
That sounds like an incredibly awesome job! Fingers and toes crossed for her.
Heck yes job interviews!
Oh yeah. I went to the Pantops Food Lion which is surrounded by Bradford Pears and stepped out into the smell of a teenage boy's bedroom and thought "oh hell no". I've been watching the pink magnolia across the street and down the alley go crazy and my Sweetheart cherry thinking about it.
Perhaps the quick cooling will put the brakes on the trees attempting to have relations in our sinuses?
*looks at the sign in the neglected city owned lot that my neighbors apparently get fined for if it's not mowed* Hey "Downtown Belmont" is really a thing. Really.
A grey-blue tortilla puffing up on a speckled grey aluminum pan on the stove.
Tonight I'm doing Taco Tuesday a day late...but with homemade (also lol, my orignal typo was hoemade) blue corn tortillas.
Yeah, my challenge right now is that for most of the last two weeks our house hasn't even used 1.2 kWh each hour so I'd like to store the excess from the plug in solar, but the commercial solutions make you panic plig in the appliance to the clunky battery if the grid goes out.
Hotter here than fricken Tucson. Do not like.
I contemplated shorts yesterday and then thought I might blind people if I did that ๐
Meanwhile in Virginia: plug in solar is going to be legal so you can generate up to 1.2 kW and jack it straight into the house without the electric company saying boo. But the House & Senate added language moving the enactment date from July 1 to Jan 1, 2027.
So...it's like 88 degrees outside so Charlottesville is currently hotter than Tucson. 10 of my 12 tomato varietals in the patio greenhouse have sprouted. The kale sprouted in 48 hrs. I have sown lettuce, spinach, and arugula in a new planter. Lord help us all.
And I'm lopsided in the sunburnt because one shoulder was almost always pointed south ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
I was not chugging enough water or Gatorade yesterday and Monday. I am also sunburnt ๐ซ
I am so effing glad I took today off from painting the fence because this heat would have kicked my ass.
While I find myself singing the fuck me song with every step I take due to pain: at least I got a first coat of paint on our fence before the Bradford pears made everything reek of semen.
Trying to sleep when you're in pain and keep having muscle cramps in your hamstrings is ๐ฉ
Coat 2 of fence paint is probably going to be a more leisurely affair over the next week and a bit.
I'm just at wtaf Kelly, you were pretending to have morals and follow the constitution.
Me listening to the 80s channel on Sirius while cooking: hmmm next job I should probably declare that my toxic IT trait is checking my headphones when they/the OS act up by searching 'Miami Sound Machine Conga' because I don't trust Zoom/Teams/whatevs "Test my Sound".
In our case it's the Tillamook! My cascading availability list was chocolate/peanut butter, campfire peanut butter cup, then cookie dough.
After all the fence painting yesterday and today I made spousal unit do a run for chocolate ice cream with a peanut butter swirl because I need it.
A bowl full of cylindrical-ish dumplings tossed in a green pesto with dark and light pink chunks of beet.
Some nights interesting dinners come out of my kitchen....like a Gnudi (ricotta dumpling like gnocchi) tossed in a mix of arugula and lemon pesto with chopped up pickled beets (bother the arugula pesto and pickled beets are via last year's garden).
Freya the black pittie lab standing in grass in the middle of a garden looking very alert. There might be some boxes and other crap in the back of the yard that need cleaned up.
Someone wanted to be a baked potato in the yard this afternoon but was upset I did not ait in the grass with her because I would have major difficulty getting back up. So instead she listened for motorcycles to bark at.
I also may have informed the spouse I need ice cream tonight ๐ and that I'm taking a two day break before the second coat goes on (gotta prototype the mural on my computer as well)
I'm just trying to get the danged fence painted before the roses and the daffodils get going in our yard ๐ซ
Cheering squads driving by today were almost all minority construction or landscaping crews, I think they knew I needed hyped. Also after all the bending over to cut in the bottoms of the fence boards before using a roller my booty and hamstrings say no to everything.
A view of our front corner pathway steps leadimg up to a path wear a large water bottle and gallon of paint sit in front of a lightly coated white fence.
As of 1:30 pm it was 83 degrees outside _and_ 100% of our fence and gates had a coat of fence paint. I am beat.
Day 2 of fence painting: finally got a drive by cheering squad.
