It is exceptionally weird to consider study and practice as forms of gatekeeping. That's the exact position pro-GenAI folk levy against artists. We have libraries and the internet. Don't let a low read count stop you from making art, but it's a very strange time to encourage people to read less.
The "you don't have to read to be a writer" people are mostly focused on making art for art's sake.
The "you have to read to be a good writer" people are mostly focused on building a skill through study and practice.
It gets pretty fucked when the focuses switch, but the message doesn't.

Link to your work, drop your rate if you're comfortable doing so, and a way to be contacted. Even if they don't wind up needing a consultation, a lot of designers NEED this kind of help, but don't know how to find you or navigate the many online communities out there. Post your shit. Get some work.
A common occurrence during my last consult was the need for editors, layout designers, map designers and so on. Reply to THIS POST, not the OP or ones after, if you are a freelancer in any of these (or other relevant) departments. I will send designers to these replies to find who they need.
