I see that was updated at 12:04 so it’s possible the earlier version wasn’t clear or just mistaken. TBF it’s a weird situation and easy to be confused.

The county court ordered the polls to remain open but after Paxton got the TX SC to intervene, they ruled that only folks that were in line by 7pm would have their votes count. The others would be preserved but not counted.
Assuming chicanery in TX is always the safe bet, though.
FWIW, Allred ran to retake his previous seat, the one he had to resign to run against Cornyn last time around.
FWIW, as of 30 minutes ago Gonzalez was leading by 4 votes. Not 4 points, 4 *votes*. So, yeah, headed to a runoff but by the time all these votes are counted he’s likely to be behind.
It’s a start. A shitty one but a start all the same.
Hasn’t gotten much play here at all.
But that could change since the NM AG’s office has been making a bit of noise about reopening their investigation of activities at the ranch. Their investigation was taken over by the feds (in 2019, before he died) and disappeared without a trace.
Yep, Huffines owns Zorro Ranch now.
but then the published precinct maps were wrong since they weren’t updated after the restricting. Then the SOS website crashed when all those folks tried to figure out the correct place they should be voting.
I think the technical term is “one damn thing after another.” 2/end
Early voting is very different. You can go to any voting center in your county during early voting. Easy peasy.
The prob w Dallas is they’ve had county-wide Election Day (not just early) voting centers since 2018. That changed this year because GOP refused to go along. That was confusing enough 1/2
You’ve got that completely backwards. The TX SC ruled that votes in Dallas County after the scheduled closing time are to be held and not counted.
The whole county situation is just a series of (maybe deliberate) clusterfucks due to the restricting shenanigans.
Howzit Phil!
I’m in TX (which has been a ride tonight!) but after I had family stationed in NC I’ve kept a casual interest in NC politics. Enough that I know who Berger is but not Page. Is Page much better?
In my family, we call this the pony. As in, “I knew if I dug deep enough I’d find a pony.”
I was one of those young idiots. I can try to mitigate by noting that all my life Nader had been a good guy and we didn’t know then what a jerk he really was. Also I was in Texas and so doing a vote swap was relatively harmless.
But I know what I did and I regret it.
Tell me you’re utterly ignorant of the political climate in Texas without telling me…
Jinkies.
Spouse is a Navy retiree, they didn’t do it when he was AD. Your name was stenciled on your poopysuit and uniform shirt but nowhere else.
I’ve seen a handful of YouTube videos made by Japanese folks using these. The lid doesn’t seal that well so drowning seems like a remote if not impossible event.
What’s that spell!?
Scrolled far too long before I got to this.
A meme of Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo from the movie “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”. She looks appalled and it is captioned, “Fellow white lady, this ain’t it”.
Figure the odds. I’m not completely certain but, yeah, I’m sure there was no such instruction.
Not fast enough.
Florida, but otherwise, yeah.
Markwayne isn’t the sharpest pickle in the jar.
Don’t forget anti-Islam and vows to prevent sharia law. I never watch anything in real time during election seasons here because I’d probably end up breaking my tv.
He’s 18?!? Where on Earth did the time go???
Then you’re prepared to start cooking French food. Win-win!
I feel you. I live in Texas.
