(My thought process each time was that I didn’t want to overload myself with doing a full round of applications while still busy in my current program, so I applied for my top choice and planned to take a year off to apply more widely when I had more time if I didn’t get it.)

This is how I’m sharing here that I got accepted + offered an assistantship at the only PhD program I applied to (and the one I was most interested in) meaning that I’m three for three on putting all my eggs in one higher education basket and it miraculously paying off.
