The Don Lemon arrest fries my ass. Every single person who cares about free speech should be outraged!

I will never get over the fact that sheer, utter stupidity got us to this moment. It didnโt require an evil, mastermind scheme. It was simply collective, empty-headed stupidity.
16-year-old me drew this for a zine for one of my sisterโs friends back in โ95.
As weโve made inroads, culture on the whole is collapsing and now weโre stagnating. The culture has become cynical and too small minded for big dreams.
I will say on a positive note that general inroads were made- it wasnโt a total failure. I think the challenges comics are facing apply to the arts as a whole. Thereโs the infantilizing and fracturing of culture on a whole-but other mediums found respectability-comics never quite got there.
Thereโs always outliers- every year perfectly respectable comics for adults are published- but itโs not the general thrust of the industry.
I think what youโre talking about is a seismic shift in the general attitude of the industry. There was a time where the battle for respectability was being fought on many fronts, and now the general attitude is resignation.
Honey Donโt! is good, guys.
I remember Michael Madsen saying that coolness is not an actable quality- you either have it or you donโt. He had it. RIP
First judges were ignored, now theyโre being arrested. The next stage of fascism has begun. As always they have a new slur- โactivist judgesโ- which apparently includes the Supreme Court. This administration is an enemy of the Constitution and an enemy to every US citizen.
If we the people collectively woke up and realized we donโt want this shitbag for a President, he could be impeached and removed before he completed his 4 years. Too many people donโt care though.
ICE is the KKK. Theyโre abducting people and sending them to concentration camps in foreign lands without due process. This is in clear violation of US law. These are human rights violations. It must not be tolerated.
I think Tuvok was like โThank fuck!โ And Neelix was like โBut I kinda liked us being merged together.โ
Thank yaโ kindly
You canโt draw a comic like that and not expect a shit ton of backlash, so I hope (Iโm fucking rooting for her) to weather that well. Comics is a small club-weโve all had our emperorโs clothes thoughts- but I try not to begrudge anyone elseโs success. Thatโs one half of the controversy.
I get (and agree with a lot of) the criticism against the comic. I also have enough respect for Graham that I can give it a good faith interpretation- whether I agree with it or not. But I get it, I get it.
I gotta admit, I โlikedโ the post without reading it-which I sometimes do with artists I like to show support (although I think we all want our posts to be read). It wasnโt until I came across Wimberlyโs post that I was like-โWait, need to go back and actually read the comic!โ
My personal theory is that although Tuvix didnโt want to โdieโ (I donโt think it counts as murder in this case), after complying to Janewayโs orders, he ultimately resigned himself to his fate and realized-to paraphrase Spock- that the needs of the many outweighed the needs of the one.
Who knows? Tuvix had their memories so it could be possible. It raises many questions. (P.S.-I havenโt commented on your work before but I love it-youโre a genius)
They never mention in it, which is my one (major) beef regarding an otherwise excellent episode.
Great episode! What bugs me tho is that when Tuvix is separated again we get 0 comment from Neelix & Tuvok. Theyโre not confused about where theyโre at-so do they share Tuvix memories or what?
Howโd A Nice Girl Like Me Get A Job Like This?
A new chapter of The Tissue Paper Desperado beginsโฆ
I concur, 8647 as fast as fucking possible! Lock me up FBI!
Weird! Sheโs more of an Animorph (boatimorph?)
Yeah, one of my faves is a stand alone Friends of Maxx issue. I love the settings and environments he creates-theyโre so immersive, I feel like Iโm right there. Usually when artists do environments they use a lot of traditional perspective, but he doesnโt use that at all. Donโt know how he does it.
To be honest, to this day I havenโt read the whole thing, so maybe itโs presumptuous to call it a masterpieceโฆmaybe it doesnโt hold up as a wholeโฆGiven the premise, it shouldnโt work at ALL, but everything Iโve read is as good as comics get.
A friend of mine had his fan art published on the back cover of an issue. I just picked up a random issue from the story arc where it jumps into the future and was spellbound all over again.
Iโm sure you guys already know this, but The Maxx is a masterpiece.
My Mom unearthed an old drawing of mine- Yโknow, from a couple years ago.
Iโm excited for the latest new comic: Godzilla vs. Columbo!! Tom King is writing it!!
