the IIHF first introduced 3 on 3 overtime in 2017 and it was only in round robin, not playoff or gold medal game. so "has always done" is quite the overstatement.

3 on 3 is as bad as a shootout, they just cycle the puck back in their end, and then go for their run. its not hockey, its flashy garbage for people with no attention span. and for shootouts, I'll only accept them for international play, these guys aren't making pro money for long OTs.

saying “we” are also to blame because “we” wanted more cgi is incredibly lame. i never asked for that. and to use one test screening from a remake of The Thing as the basis of how “everyone” thinks is also lame. just get to the point, studios are evil, stock prices are only allowed to go up.
