Our structure determination of a dopamine-binding DNA aptamer yielded surprising results. The structure had only 2 Watson-Crick base pairs, but lots of base pairs normally only seen in RNA folds. Check out our crazy DNA structure in the recent bioRxiv preprint, along with other binding details.

An ERC-funded position will dissect pre-mRNA processing pathways in the infective organism Trypanosoma brucei. An ANR-funded position will characterise large complexes in RNA modification.
