he's not wrong on a technical level that they are in fact arbitrary social constructs, but so are things like race or gender and i'm guessing this guy isn't going around like "we need to stop believing in things like hawaiian people and women. stop doing it. there's no point to it all. wrap it up."

I’m all for a revival of mainline Protestant theology in the US, which I think would be broadly positive, and I wish Talarico well. I don’t mind at all that his Christianity inspires him, but I do wish he could find a way to express that without making Second Temple Judaism the obstacle to overcome.

Progressive Christianity arguably has even more of a supersessionism problem than conservative Christianity, since it needs to define itself as a Christianity of love against the conservative Christianity of rules and legalism, which is then inherently associated with Judaism.

This is disgusting and disturbingly becoming the norm among far-right members of Congress. When elected officials decline to condemn this hatred, it is allowed to fester and grow.

We know we are *all* safer in a pluralistic democracy and must take these menacing, corrosive statements seriously.

my hot writing take is that playing with POV is neat and you can do what you want. present tense first! close third! first-person-direct-address with bits of omniscient third! anything is legal if you look good doing it!!

yeah that's a pretty good sentiment more people need to internalize

antisemitism and misogyny are both conspiratorial in nature and often function differently from other forms of hatred in that some of the people who hate both groups the most will pretend to champion their rights if it'll help them wail on other people just a lil bit harder

people need to stop viewing antisemitism thru the paradigm of racism and start viewing it more through the lens of misogyny.
