Woke up this morning with “Take It Away” by Paul McCartney playing in my head. No clear explanation but it seems determined to stay until there’s no one else around. 😜 #EarWorm

Good morning. Hilo’s seeing a little rain and the occasional gusty breeze that doesn’t stay long. So far, everything behaving reasonably well though it’s probably a tad early to get too comfortable. Old photo but feels surprisingly relevant under the present circumstances. (July 21st, 2021) #Hawaii
The inevitable flooding in Ka’u..
Hawaii County: Hawaii Police Department advises you to AVOID the east end of Wood Valley Road in Pahala due to flooding across the roadway.
OH, and the answer is an emphatic YES.
I’ve fielded quite a few questions from listeners this morning, but the one that’s clearly taken the lead is this rather pressing matter: Are the rubbish dumps closed today? #Hawaii #HIWX #KonaLow
We got through it! Well, without throwing any tantrums, at least!
Kona is getting wet! The Ali DRive webcam..

Whew! A fairly busy show today though oddly under control. Such confidence at this juncture, of course, rarely ends well. EXCELSIOR!
Stay safe!! You'll be the first to get some of this fine weather we're expecting!
A listener sent this from the Mauna Lani. Usually one would be able to see Maui. Not today. #Hawaii #KonaLow
Shewww. Doing my best not to be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information rolling in this morning...
There sure is a lot of that going around. The righteous indignation does seem a bit unnecessary, all things considered.
Quite a few things are closed today due to the weather. Our morning show, however, will carry on… providing information and keeping things moving.
((Weather permitting))😜
That is absolutely correct! On our social media types like Bluesky when you’re limited in your character usage sometimes just a simple Hall & Oates will have to suffice. At least that’s the excuse I’m going with… lol
Well, thus far Hilo remains suspiciously dry. Not to suggest the storm has cancelled its appearance… merely that it’s taking its time making an entrance. Quite calm at the moment.

Perfect start to my day! Love me some Hall & Oates!
Woke up with “Out of Touch” by Hall & Oates in my head. #Earworm
Good morning! Six years ago today the last big party before the pandemic shutdown. (March 12, 2020)

Okay I didn’t imagine it then. lol
Just felt a small jolt. Might have been a small earthquake..
OH absolutely! Hopefully they will just to be on the safe side.
All UH campuses on O'ahu and Maui County will be closed tomorrow (Friday the 13th) due to the severe weather expected to impact the state. As of now, Kauai and Hawaii County haven't made a decision regarding closures just yet.

It starts! The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the entire Island of Hawaii through Saturday. In addition a Special Marine Warning for Leeward waters from Upolu Point to South Kona has been issued through this afternoon. #Hawaii #hiwx #KonaLow
Big birds dropping into Hilo today within minutes of each other — a hulking Boeing C-17A Globemaster III and a stocky Airbus A321 from Hawaiian Airlines.
Usually it’s just the dependable island hop crowd — the Boeing 717 and Southwest Boeing 737. Today the runway got fancy. #Airplanes #Hawaii
The first 8 minutes of The Heights is just so epic. A local production here in Hilo is tackling this classic. #TheHeights
LOL!! That song has such a LOUD beat to it. Not complaining but that dirge-like drum is almost more than the song needs.
Awwww buddy. So sorry to hear of Hoover's passing.
LOL! Apparently not!
