The past week, the news cycle + social media has destroyed my mental health. I don't upset easily, but between AI knocking at the door and the right-wing media buyout, being online for just minutes puts me in a dark place. I am watching tidal waves grow larger. No one is running; I can't stop it.
I usually spend about a day on a general outline so that my characters can ignore it and do whatever they were going to do anyway.

The common consensus I've seen for years now is to just use Windows Defender. It already comes packaged with Windows, so as long as you keep the PC up to date, you're good. Most people I know have moved away from third-party antivirus.
