Text on a dark green background. Text reads "International Women's Day" and "Stand up for All Women"
The Scottish Trans and Equality Network logos are on the bottom.
IWD 2026's theme is 'Give to Get'. Giving can mean many things - time, money, or support. To us it means giving our voices in solidarity with all women facing increasing hostility, from online misogyny to attacks on bodily autonomy.
When we give our solidarity, we get our collective liberation.

Eight health boards across Scotland refer to Sandyford, and we believe the only way to fix the waiting times would be for more of these health boards to begin to deliver gender identity healthcare themselves. So we want to start campaigning in these health boards!

Trans healthcare in Scotland, especially in areas that refer to Sandyford, is in a dire state. We think the main cause of the length of Sandyford's waiting list is the sheer volume of referrals they get - they currently cover roughly half of Scotland's population.

In our submission (p.4-9), we highlight our real concerns with the Government’s decision to copy and paste the definition of ‘sex’ from the Supreme Court ruling into Scottish law. The Cabinet Secretary for Justice has responded (p.17-19). But we still aren’t persuaded the Govt. has got this right.

Engender’s submission (p.10-16) highlights why they think adding ‘sex’ to hate crime law is the wrong approach & won't protect women & girls from harm. In fact, they think it could make things worse, by undermining a gendered approach to the law that recognises the sexism & misogyny women face.
