Some surgeries have re-started but ONLY for cases where no over night stay is required or no high medical risk. AHS/Lagrinch REFUSE to still provide the stipends or agree to recent proposal to fully re-open! Restrictions are now in place until March 31, 2025. /22

Bad thread is up!
Alberta is using surge capacity ICU beds and the CBE just set a 2024 record for absenteeism!
And you wouldn’t know if it wasn’t for the bad thread!
Because we don’t talk about respiratory illness in Alberta anymore!

“The reality is that people are dying from COVID in our hospitals, and we really are doing very little to prevent them getting ill and getting infected. And we wouldn't do the same for any other infectious disease,” Vipond said.

Crowsnest Pass residents to vote today on Grassy Mountain coal project | CBC News
Residents of Crowsnest Pass in southwestern Alberta will participate in a non-binding vote today on whether or not they support the development of a nearby coal project.
No god damn way should 1957 Albertans should decide if we start coal mining the Rockies again. Out of 4,888,723 Albertans that is not even statically relevant. Even though over 70% of Albertans said not coal. Watch Danielle Smith claim overall support for project. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The main reason they stopped testing for Covid in Canadian provinces & are not making Rapid Covid tests available is if there is not test then there is no proof you ever had covid let alone long covid. Getting help for long covid in Canadian provinces is almost impossible.

This all gives me a bad feeling. Heads up, #IDSky. 👀
It is also a reminder that we need a strong CDC with adequate resources to investigate potential #publichealth threats. This was posted on X. I’ve seen no updates yet on what is thought to have happened on these 2 flights.

Wondering why so many people have mycoplasma (aka walking pneumonia) lately? Here’s a clue.
Just published: after propensity matching, those w/ prior #COVID19 infection were about 3x more likely to get mycoplasma than those without #COVID: www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

Just a reminder that while some cities are still debating whether or not to transform a block or two of streets into places for people, this year Montreal transformed 11 such streets across 7 neighbourhoods, equalling 9+kms, from car spaces to people places.

Do you know how much CEO pay has skyrocketed since 1978?
100%? 500%?
Try 1,085%
Meanwhile, the $7.25/hr fed. minimum wage hasn't budged in 15 years and the tipped min. wage has been $2.13/hr since 1991.
This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.
