What I would give to go back in time and speak to some of the great philosophers and see their faces while I explain that man no longer thinks for themselves, instead they sell their intellect for a few extra seconds of time in the name of efficiency. Or sheer laziness. Wasteful.

By no means am I a purist. There have been times that I'm crunched for time and I ask AI to abbreviate my original email (I overexplain) or to summarize a call so I can log details, but in this industry, how on earth can you expect to hold your own in a meeting if you can't think on your own! What!!

While this is all going on, I'm trying to avoid thinking about the scale of this across SaaS companies and how this is exponentially impacting the environment. How deep does it go?

Where is the pride in developing your own solutions or strategies? Where is the desire to level up your thinking?

Every day our job keeps pushing adoption of AI in our processes, which I understand to a minimal degree, but for fuck's sake why are we using AI to determine talking points or retention strategies? Why are we getting coached on making sure our client-facing emails don't "sound like AI"?
