AWrap) Just a shout-out to the coordinators and participants of this awesome throw-back to the #lrnchat of old. It's basically the only reason I'm using BlueSky, but it's a very refreshing one.
Thanks #LearnChat! βοΈ
Someone pointed me toward perplexity.ai, which combines a bunch of different models and provides sources with every reply.
If you're stuck in one of the Xfinity local monopolies, you can probably pick up a year of Pro for free via Xfinity Rewards. #LearnChat
A7) I think I'd mostly like to be more deliberate about learning goals and expectations this year. I'm finding ways to increase my productivity with the creative use of AI tools, and maybe that will translate into more time to explore the unknown as it relates to professional development. #LearnChat
A6) Lately, it seems like all you have to do is throw a rock and you'll hit a newfangled AI tool. I think this is causing at least as much harm as it is good. It's definitely increasing my productivity in some areas, but it can also impact expectations.
It'll require mindful application. #LearnChat
Hello! I'm up in Ridgefield. π
A5) One of my projects this week centers on using our existing tools to develop personalized learning. For example, the creative use of variables and object states can give us a ton of options for creating engaging content that is relevant to the learner.
Also, there's *all* of the AI... #LearnChat
Safe travels!
Likewise! #LearnChat
A4) This is a tough one because there's so much variety in the quality of the existing learning experience -- and I think it has lowered the bar in some cases on what learners expect.
We tend to get incredible feedback when we've advocated for their experience throughout our process. #LearnChat
A3) Depends on what I want to know and the conditions under which I am pursuing that learning. I feel like this is usually reactive for me. I need to know something to complete an aspect of a project, so I go pick up what I need to complete it. #LearnChat
A2) I'm going to echo a few others in that my plan here is to actively ignore societal trends. I suspect that spending energy focusing on those will only distract me from what needs to be done. #LearnChat
A1) I feel like I haven't spent much time focusing on this yet, so I'm guessing my first goal is to establish some goals. π #LearnChat
Evening all. Kel Krehbiel joining (fashionably?) late from just north of Portland, OR. π
This week has been all about overcoming the post-holiday amnesia. #LearnChat

Last month's return of #LearnChat was a lot of fun - make plans to join us this week!

L&D professionals at #LearnChat:
A7) Going forward? Tuesday evenings. ;)
I always came away from these with a better understanding of what we do and how we do it, and a solid appreciation for the fact that we aren't doing it alone.
#LearnChat has stayed true to form. Thanks for bringing it back!
I've heard of that guy! #learnchat
A6) This is already an excellent start, and super refreshing. I don't think I really appreciated how much I missed this community until now. #LearnChat
A5) I believe that the era of "one social media platform to rule them all" is well and truly over. Having a niche use for a space like BlueSky and using it for that specific purpose seems to be a sustainable way to contribute towards a lasting community. #LearnChat
It's a really humbling problem for an industry that's allegedly centered on the ability to teach anyone anything. #sadbuttrue #learnchat
A4) One of the persistent challenges we have in our world is trying to get the non-L&D decisionmaker to understand what we do and why it's valuable to them.
I think that for all of its benefits, AI is actually making this murkier, so strategizing as a community might be useful. #LearnChat
A3) That much like with sr leaders, L&D folks need to be not only experimenting with #AI but teaching those experiments to the org. Great chance for us to be leading and not taking orders to be filled. #LearnChat
