Search-and-rescue crews were “flying blind” trying to rescue survivors from deadly tornadoes that hit the Midwest last week.
Why? Because Kristi Noem hadn't approved FEMA’s $200,000 contract with a tornado-tracking tool.
But she had time to spend $220 million on anti-immigrant ads. Priorities.

Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning:
Denial of quarter—even the declaration of no quarter—is a war crime.
And recognized as such by the US Government.

Sen. Angus King (I-ME) speaks at a Senate Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. (Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images)
Angus King: “There is a clear winner in this war, Vladimir Putin & Russia — estimates released a few hours ago are that Russia has reaped $6 billion — about $400 million a day from the increase in oil prices & the easing of sanctions — I think the record should show the real winner so far is Putin”

Dark money group offers influencers $1,500 for posts attacking Chicago Democratic primary candidate
Progressive House candidate Kat Abughazaleh told MS NOW the secretive campaign is “filled with false and defamatory claims.”
All this week I've written about how here in IL, dark money and MAGA aligned PACs are spending absurd sums of money to prop up establishment corporate Dems while attacking progressive Dems who are actually willing to fight.
MSNOW has the scoop on just how deep this goes:

The National Security Case for Renewable Energy - The American Prospect
Turns out oil is vulnerable to price shocks caused by blood-crazed presidents.
The Iran war is showing that renewable energy is a national security imperative, and that fighting renewables tooth and nail as the White House has been doing since day one deeply undermines national security, as @ryanlcooper.com writes.

"He is back in Trump’s good graces?" - Internet left confused by Michael Cohen announcing he is teaming up with Laura Loomer to do a podcast together
Here are netizens’ reactions to Michael Cohen claiming that he was working to start a podcast with Laura Loomer.
Never trusted him for a second. Just another delusional grifter in a long line of “let’s-talk-across-the-aisle” fantasists. Because MAGA psychopaths are just misunderstood deplorables.

How RFK, Jr.’s controversial beliefs are shaping Americans’ health
How Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s ideas about public health—from vaccines to seed oils—are shaping Americans’ health
Did a story on what RFK Jr. believes and how it ties into what some are describing as "soft eugenics." We also interviewed @bethmariem.bsky.social who did a piece last year digging into his beliefs. You can listen here or wherever you get your podcasts

We are all numb to it, but it is remarkable how little noise 95% of Democrats are making about this war. All we hear is fears that they could put troops on the ground and that they don't have a clear plan. It's all future tense about how things could go wrong, not opposing the war as it exists now.

The government can legally scoop up and read Americans' emails and texts, track everywhere they go, and feed huge amounts of data into AI without court oversight. Next month, Congress will have a chance to rein it all in. I'm leading a bipartisan bill to restore real privacy.
